I really want to like this place because the family which operates it are hard working, polite, and earnest. They've invested to update the rooms to feel modern.
This is my 3rd time staying here an by far the worst. I was told a queen size bed its a double. Half the lights don't work. The recliner in the room is broken. When the heat comes on it makes a terrible racket. And the faucet in the sink almost came off in my hand.
However the largest problem is that the hotel allows smoking in half of the rooms. The stench of it pervades the hallways and invaded our nonsmoking room.
I was skeptical about booking at Super 8 since I've had bad experiences in the past. However, the corporate booking agent was very friendly and told me it was ranked a 3, so thought I'd take my chances. Creepy. Dark, dreary room with poor lighting. Holes in the walls,the male checking in not at all friendly. Wrinkled sheets. Filthy carpet. I'll never do Super 8 again. Not sure I'll even shower here the bathtub has a filthy base and disgusting chipped grout. Hope there are no bedbugs. If I weren't so tired from a long drive and could easily waste the money I'd check out and go elsewhere. By the way it's ranked a 2. Not 3 as I was told. 2 is a long stretch. 1 more accurate.
Our room had a strange opaque stain on one of the windows.
I called to book at La Quinta but a room was not available so she referred me to Super 8.
If you're a smoker or don't mind the smell of smoke, this hotel represents a good value. Otherwise I recommend you look elsewhere.
Good, basic breakfast (toast, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal packets, pastries, waffle maker, coffee). Sitting area was very small but people were quick to eat and free up tables for the next guests. Rooms were clean and quiet with air conditioning control. Only complaints were that silicone in bathroom was poorly done and bathtub plug wouldn't stay open. Staff was very friendly. Location was one block away from the main street so traffic noise was minimal.
Needs a face lift! My first room had a plugged up sink so had to move to the room next door. Convenient to fast food restaurants.
