I would give it 50 Stars. Excellent service from staff. Perfect clean rooms. Great breakfast. Underground security parking. I have not one complaint about this place.
I've stayed here twice. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly. Good location in downtown Great Falls.
I called the hotel right away and left a message for the owner, Jason. I called back Friday and he said he would have their pest control company check the room. The front desk clerk called my husband today and said that there was one bed bug found in the room but it was dead. She also insinuated that my husband may have brought the bed bug into the hotel room. I called Jason and he was less than empathetic. He also suggested that my husband brought bed bugs into the hotel, from another hotel. My husband was home the weekend before and there were no bed bug bites on him and our home doesn't have them either. His itching and irritation from the bites started Thursday and he believes he was bitten in the middle of the night on Wednesday. Had my husband been bitten before or had we had them in our home, he would have certainly had a reaction like he did this time. He has never had a bed bug bite until this stay at the Econo Lodge. I asked Jason what they do to safeguard their hotel from bed bugs and what duty of care he used to ensure that the hotel met the law of being inhabitable. He said that their pest control company did inspections monthly. WRONG! I called the pest control company and the gentleman said that there was a bed bug behind my husband's headboard and that he killed it. It wasn't already dead, like the hotel told my husband. Additionally, he said that he doesn't check for bed bugs monthly but, rather, sprays for mice, spiders etc. That was lie #2.
Dealing with the owner here has been a nightmare. Do not stay at this hotel. If they make an error, they will not acknowledge it and will place blame anywhere but where it belongs.
Rooms were old, air conditioning and microwave didn't work. It was 98 degrees out when we checked in and the air conditioning in the room didn't work. How can hotels operate like that?!?! They charged a $50 deposit to my credit card without telling me they were going to. Added $20 on to the nightly amount because we had a dog. This dollar value was not advertised, it just said a fee may be charged. Had I known about the fee ahead of time, the room wasn't such a great deal and I could have stayed somewhere nicer for the combined amount this place was charging. Went for my "free breakfast" which was included in the room and they were out of eggs, orange juice wasn't cold. We will never stay here, or possibly any other Choice Hotel chain location again!
My husband's stay totaled $224.49. Instead of them returning the money onto our debit card, Jason charged the card AGAIN. I called right away and all I got was denial. I called my bank and they verified that it was double-charged. So, not only are we down the $224.49 that should have been refunded but we got charged another $224.49 today. I called the hotel and told them about what the bank told me. Jason refused to talk to me and, again, blamed the bank. Apparently, he has problems accepting responsibility. Luckily, my bank reversed the duplicate charge. I asked to be reimbursed for my husband's clothes and suitcase and Jason refused.
I called Jason and after a major attempt to blame my husband for the bed bug, he begrudgingly agreed to refund my husband's stay. Besides the bed bugs, my husband had to replace his work clothes and a nice suitcase that he got as a gift from his employer. The clothes got ruined in an attempt to remove any potential bed bugs at the laundry mat. The suitcase has so many seems and spaces for bed bugs to hide so he disposed of that, also. We couldn't risk there being more bed bugs in his clothing and it leading to an infestation in my house. And we did this the night he came home. We weren't going to just leave everything in our house or anywhere need it while the hotel took four days to verify the presence of bed bugs.
This place has bed bugs!!! My husband travels A LOT! He has stayed in hundreds of hotels. He has never brought home bed bugs or gotten bitten by one before. He stayed at this hotel from August 14th-August 17th. When he got home Sunday, he came in to give the kids and I a hug and he said he thought he had bug bites on his back because it was itchy and uncomfortable when we hugged him. I lifted up and shirt and, sure enough, he had a line of welting bed bug bites.
Stayed here for a couple of days with my son. The staff here was nothing short of amazing. From moving us to a dual queen bed room, to letting me use a cord to charge my son's iPad for the time I was here, to holding a package that shipped overnight. Every time I had a question, they were quick to respond and get an answer for me. The underground garage is a nice addition, as is the location downtown. The rooms are a bit dated, but there's nothing really wrong with that as they're clean, functional and quiet.
