I purchased a scorpion helmet from Steve's and after less than a year, the scratch protectant and UV film applied to the face shield from the factory was coming off. I took it into Steve and he denied there is a film on the shield and insisted I got something on the helmet. He took a cleaner off the shelf and scrubbed on the shield until after a hour, all of the coating came off. The shield was left clean, clear, and unprotected. I inquired about a new shield and they called scorpion. I was advised that the dish soap I used to clean my face shield may have scratched the shield causing the factory applied film to delaminate, which confirmed that the shield in fact had a film, contrary to Steve's statement that they do not have a film on Lexan. Further more, Scorpions instructions say to clean with a mild detergent, which I believe that includes dish soap. Steve's staff did not ask Scorpion about a replacement shield or if they would warranty the item.
After trying to get a replacement shield, I was informed I could purchase one at full retail and pay the shipping if I wanted a new face shield ($50.00). $35.00 on Amazon. I found this insulting due to the amount of money I have spent with Steve over the last few years and I left his store with a unprotected clean face shield that may at most, cost Steve $10- to 15- dollars. No offer was made to sell me one at cost, nor was there a offer of getting it replaced. Needless to say, I am very disappointed.
After leaving, I went home and called Scorpion directly. I spoke to a very nice employee and explained everything to her. She also advised dish soap was abrasive and probably caused my issue. I disagreed and still feel dish soap is a mild detergent. Never the less after being on the phone for 7 minutes with her, she informed me that Scorpion was sending me a new shield free of charge with no shipping charge. I was very pleased and will buy Scorpion products in the future. However, I will no longer do business with Steve's, other than warranty work. It is unfortunate that a cheap plastic $15.00 piece would cause you to lose a customer. I will tell this story as often as possible.

Since 2010 I have purchased three machines from Steve's. A Suzuki ATV 2010, a V-Strom 2015, and most recently a 2015 Star Bolt. I have also purchased three helmets, jacket, windshield, and rack for more than a $1000.00 in accessories alone, in addition to the machines I have purchased. The service was just ok and nothing to brag about. I do like to buy local and was satisfied enough to keep coming back. Well that all changed to today.
