Been going here for years... got a new puppy that hurt her leg on a Sunday brought here in paid the outrageous emergency call bill. Took xrays and wrapped it said they need a second opinion from another vet... got a call at 745 they wanted to do more xrays saying they didn't get them right the first time..they wanted to charge another 200$ for more ... then told us we are animal hammer clients... guess it time to find a new vet... staff very rude!!!!
Took dog in for ivdd surgery for a compressed disk. 10 weeks later I got dog back with an 18" wound on her side and bloody knuckles on her hind foot. They said must of been spider bite in December? Yea right. I followed up with other vets they said probably burn from heating pad that's to hot and she wasn't turned, cared for properly post operation. Makes sense since they did nothing to protect her knuckles. I live in kalispell so couldnt visit.The wound will take at least 10 more weeks to heal. I never had any follow up by any doctor. Questionable about what PT she had since I was told she was ready; I asked if she could walk yet and told yes. Not even close, she can shuffle a few steps on three legs. I do like their fee structure, they cap fees at a certain rate; I guess you get what you pay for.
This place is total trash, if you’re looking for a vet keep looking. My usual vet is closed on the weekends so I️ had to come here for an emergency visit which costed $150 right off the bat. I️ get there and two people look at my dogs paw (he was limping and barely walking). They took a couple X-rays which costed a lot but said nothing is wrong with his paw. They prescribe him anti-inflammatory pills and we go on our way. When I️ get home I️ notice blood on the top of his paw. I️ call to complain, they give me the run around for a couple days and finally call back when I️ went in to fuss in person. Terrible service, find somewhere else in town to go.
I've been a client at big Sky since the late 90s, when it was just Dr scheer. I can not express how disappointed I am in how poor the quality of care has become. Do yourself a favor, if you're looking for a vet, keep looking. You're bank account and you're heart will thank you.
We have been frequent visitors at Big Sky after two back surgeries and physical therapy for my corgi Pepper in the past 10 months. I can't say enough good things about the entire staff. The front desk ladies have been kind, helpful, and empathetic. The vet techs have been patient and gentle with Pepper. Dr. Harmon has been thorough and clearly cares about providing the highest level of care. Susie, the physical therapist, is so kind and wonderful. They have been upfront about costs and have not exceeded initial estimates. We had great success after the first surgery but then things started to slide backward with what turned out to be a rare migration of a partial disc from the first surgery. Dr. Harmon offered free diagnostics to figure out exactly what was going on and then a significantly reduced cost second surgery with him and Dr. Scherr, and physical therapy to follow. Every time we visit, everyone we come into contact with greets us happily and seems genuinely happy to see Pepper. It's really heartwarming. I have been endlessly impressed with the quality of care for Pepper and the kindness shown to my husband and me at Big Sky. Highly recommend.
