Good food, great salsa, nice staff & good prices.
Our servers were kind, prompt, attentive, & friendly; but then we got our rather bland food.
My husband got "fajitas" which consisted of cooked chicken and steamed vegetables, no. flavor. or. spice. at. all.
I really wanted to love this place, as ppl rave about it, but I've been disappointed both times I have been there. First, I am totally put off by the unappealing open container of salsa on the table with flies walking around on top. This should have a lid on it and maybe the container cleaned once in a while. The queso was just melted cheese, like from a Velveeta block or canned fake cheese and that's it! No meat, tomatoes, salsa, seasoning or anything added in it. It looked like it was just plopped in a bowl and brought out to our table. I regret not getting a picture of it. For a Mexican restaurant, the queso was a huge disappointment. The service was scarce and it was not during a busy time. The food itself wasn't bad, but nothing to rave about.
The decor is nice and reminscent of Arizona.
Excellent service; pathetic attempt at authentic mexican food.
I ordered their "beef burrito" combo. It consisted of two portions of beef lettuce and cheese on tortillas. That's an equivalent to taco bell's soft tacos except taco bell is better because their meat is zesty and flavorful. Not the case at el comedor. What an utter failure of a mexican restaraunt. They would serve themselves a great justice by renaming themselves and calling themselves a nice, lightly southern-inspired dining establishment.
Very apparent that it is not authentic. I enjoyed the beans, they were dry and very peppery. The chicken was not seasoned and boiled, literally the worst thing you can do to chicken. I liked the tortilla of the fluffy taco, that was it. The waitress was quick, not a conversationalist and I appreciate that. Refilled drinks quickly. Food came out quickly, too. Was a very quiet place, huge bar menu. I wouldn't and will not return to this location.
I could eat the salsa which means absolutely no spice. Personally I don't like a lot of spicy but he loves it and was rather unimpressed.
This place hurts my feelings. One time they are off the hook delicious and the next it is flavorless and cold. If you catch em on a good day you'll be happy.
