The park was immaculate, the staff delightful and the path layout was conducive to a number of people observing a park feature.
Beautiful, quiet State park that is handicap accessible, great walking, hiking, and biking trails. The Roe River (world's shortest) comes out of an underground spring and of course the trout hatchery. Bring nickles to get fish food for the big trout pool. Fun place to visit.
Such a beautiful place! I was born and raised in Chicago, and love nature, but have never been to a place so beautiful in my whole life. If your looking to enjoy some time in nature and the fresh air, I definitely recommend Giant Springs!
I would suggest a visit to the park to read the history, enjoy the falls and listen to the water.
Our visit involved an intense family meeting; the serene atmosphere allowed a difficult situation to be "softened".
The giant springs themselves were beautiful, very cool to see. The main park area by the fish hatchery was more built up and like a city park than I expected. Washrooms, food for sale, small stage with live music, scattered trees with well maintained grass. There is a path that leads a little ways up to the Lewis and Clark Centre.
It's beautiful and it's very relaxing just sitting and listening to the water. I went with friends who were visiting and we grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and went for a walk. It was a great time!
